Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace,Flickr, bemybuddy, ikindofknowyoubutwillignoreyouinpublic, etc.
Why do I feel obligated to join these sites?
And yes, I know the last two are not real sites, but that's what all these social networks amount to. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy networking, but why so many?
Because the friends I have on Facebook are the same folks that I have on other networks.
It's amazing how we follow each other so closely on networks, but hardly ever hang out in public.
I guess I should digress and explain why I am venting about this now. I just received an email from a very nice person to join Twitter and I am having true anxiety over what to do. I would rather not join. But at the same time, I don't want this person to think I am ignoring them. Silly isn't it?
The struggle I have is the guilt associated with having to join another social network. I believe it may be worse than the guilt received from Catholics. No I am not Catholic, but worked within the Archdiocese School system for over three years. Needless to say, it's real!!!
Often, I am left wondering if these sites are the ultimate opportunity for social posturing? This idea of the more people you can have on your list, the cooler you seem. Maybe the blogger world is the same? Not sure, and choose to leave that up to you to decide.
After writing this blog, I have decided that I will have to decline the invite to Twitter. I just cannot handle another site where i feel pressure to have people join my whatever.
Blogger,Linkedin and Facebook are enough for me. And maybe that's too much. Until later.....

P.S. I meant to blog about Big Blue Nation. So let me sum BBN in this little note. Many BBN fans are backwards and crazy as hell. They always deny it,but trust me that's why coaches have a hard time working there.
