Lent

Many people all around me are sacrificing things for Lent. At first, I was against the idea of participating (no objection to other people doing so, just me). However, I began to realize Lent is a beautiful thing since it is done in the honor of something greater than us. I especially became more receptive to this idea after reading the explanation below:

The season of Lent in the springtime is the life-giving
season. As trees shed their old leaves, so too this season invites us to shed the old to live a life full of newness.

Since I am always wanting to be a more responsible person, I have chosen to give up my Debit Card. That is HUGE!!!!

I will only use my debit card for the necessities, i.e. food, gas, bills etc. The main goal of this is to teach me to live below my means and save more money.I just hope this promise becomes a habit.

Anyone else sacrificing?

Men Crushes....yes they exist

I have been thinking a lot about men (hetereosexual) crushing on their guy friends. Why? Not really sure, but I have. And yes guys, even if you deny it, you all do crush hard on some of your friends.

Don't deny it!

Why is it that men (my husband and brother in-law...maybe most heterosexual men) struggle with the idea of having crushes on their best guy friends?

Seriously, what else can you call it when the only name that pops out of your mouth is that persons name, you spend more than 30 minutes talking on the phone (more than once a week) with this person, exchanging emails through-out the day, etc. ?

Please tell me what else it can be.

As women, we can say that we have crushes on other women without worrying about it sounding sexual. But some men really have a hard time with this idea.

Even after I explain that I don't mean it in a Brokeback Mountain type of way, my husband gets irritated. (Of course he also laughs cause, he knows I'm telling the truth.)

So tell me GUYS, why is it that you all don't like with this idea of having Men Crushes?
