Cozy, anyone?

While eating a lovely Chanukah dinner (latkes and veggie chili....hmmm good-thanks Katie) with friends, we began to discuss the dreaded knitted "Cozy". If you do not know what a cozy is, then take a trip to an older persons home and peek in their bathroom or even head South. I believe the south has a cozy fetish. Sad, but true.

This conversation came up after someone mentioned UPS offering a site (https://www.upsregifter.com/#/showcase/) for people to post pictures of bad gifts. And, one of the gifts happened to be a teapot cozy. How horrible! Why does a teapot need a SWEATER!!!! Not only do some knitters make teapot cozy's but there are some made for Kleenex boxes, cups and even, hold on.....BEER BOTTLES (now this is soo Nascar)!

I know you are asking, what's the point of this blog?

Basically, it's a plea to cozy makers across the world. Please stop making this ugly shit, no one likes it. And if they say they do, they are liars! But since I am not, I am letting you know this gift ranks up there with receiving a fruit cake. Maybe even worse. Honestly, I would rather not receive a thing.

What about you? If anyone gets a cozy, you just have to post a picture.

Happy Holidays and May it be filled with no Cozy's.

Dior J'adore - Charlize Theron

I wonder if I look like this when I take my clothes off?

Since I am not sure, I practice on my swagger every time this commercial is on. And yes, I practice in my paint/food stained sweats and wooly socks.

I can't get enough.

A little Taste of Kentucky

We made this lovely basket, by filling it with Kentucky made products from Creation Gardens. And then, decoupaging a box to add color. I am pretty proud of this gift.

Kings of Leon - Pt.4 - Only By The Night: Revelry

Boredom! Part 1

Let's see, I have been married 5 years and unofficially almost 10!!!! And I can still say, I am in love with my husband. He is the most kind, sweet, gentle, handsome and caring person. I am truly blessed. But, I am bored as hell!

Yeah, I said it. There is something about marriage, that can become quite stale and commonplace. Seriously, our routine has been the same for almost a decade. Monday- Friday go to work/the gym, come home eat dinner watch the telly or play video games. Sometimes we may go out to eat (very rarely-damn economy). Saturday/Sunday...hmmmmm wash clothes, grocery shop, eat, watch the boob tube and play on the computer. Really, is this what I signed up for? I know am not the only married person that feels this way. However, I may be the only who is willing to speak publicly about it.

So lately I have been thinking, why are we in a rut? I still know (maybe feel) I am the same fun and free spirited person. I still love going out dancing, even though I can't. Just imagine a black girl with little to no rhythm, yep you're looking at me.

I digress, I still enjoy hanging out with familiar/unknown people. However, my better half is the opposite. I guess he has always been this way. He is completely satisfied with rock climbing, sitting home watching football and playing video games. UGHHH!!!!!

You know I came up with the reason we are in a rut......hold on I'll tell ya.

It's called MARRIAGE!!!!! Yep, let me be the first to tell everyone, marriage can be very, very dull. Or, maybe we are dull. I will find out that answer soon, I hope.

Now that I know this, my goal for 2009 is to shake things up.

First step towards this is to go see Kings of Leon (one of our favorite groups) Jan 20th.

I know of some other fun things for us to do, but would like suggestions. So, get to thinking people and let me know.

I'll be waiting***tapping fingers on the table***

P.S. It's great to be back!
