Even though Britney Spears has been burning the covers of tabloids with her questionable antics, she has made major contributions to our society. Yes, I said it. The lyrics of the song Toxic are without a doubt, very profound and truthful. Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit. However, the point is we have all been toxic at some time in our lives, and that song reveals how addictive being in this state can be. The problem remains, we need to recognize when we are drowning in this mess and know when to get out. Since I have picked on the men in a few posts, this one is for the ladies. So listen ladies, why do so many of you constantly place yourselves in relationships with people that are not enriching your lives? I think the problems is, many women are not sure what they are looking for in a mate. Therefore, they frequently find themselves in a cycle of toxic relationships. There are many forms of a toxic relationship, as listed below:
- A relationship that makes you feel bad about yourself
- When the other person is not committed to the relationship
- Constant breking up/making-up
- The other person does not share your values
- The person makes you act like a "F'ing" crazy person
This list can go on and on. Even though the problem may be the other person, let's get REAL Ladies ! The one person that holds the key to your happiness, is much closer than you think. Just go look in a mirror. Yes, it is YOU! How can anyone truly love you, if you lack integrity or self worth? Without these two key elements, you will continue to fall into a downward spiral of ill-fated relationships. Stop the self-loathing and start self-loving! Take a chance on someone that isn't your "type." You just may find a person that is honest, true, and worthy of loving you. Aren't you worth it? I know I was.
The always truthful,
